What is Ice Tie Dyeing?

Ice dyeing is a technique in tie dye where the dye is used in its powdered form rather than soaking the garment in a bucket of liquid dye or using squirt bottles. 

The fabric or garment is tied as usual or scrunched to make the desired look then Ice cubes are placed either on top of or under the dye. As the ice melts, it mixes with the dye powder and flows through and into the fabric. This creates a water colour, marbled effect. 

Ice dyeing creates a unique effect that cannot be replicated as there is little to no control of what the dye and ice do once they melt and intertwine. That's what makes it so special.
What fabric do you use?

We use 100% GOTS certified Organic Cotton in our Hoodies and Tees. 

Any garments that have been purchased dyed prior to us hand dying them are also OEKO-TEX Certified. 

GOTS certified organic cotton means the cotton meets the Global Organic Textile Standard, which is the world's leading benchmark for organic textiles. Unlike basic "organic" labels that only track how the plant is grown, GOTS covers the entire supply chain from the seed and farm to the spinning, dyeing, manufacturing, and trading floors.

OEKO-TEX certified means that a textile product has been independently tested and proven free from harmful levels of toxic chemicals, making it safe for human health. 
What Type of dye do you use?

We use environmentally friendly, professional quality Procion Fibre Reactive Dyes. They are low impact and non toxic. 

This is the dye you've seen on tie-dyes on the street, at markets, festivals and concerts. The dyes are brilliant and permanent and the colour doesn't fade, even after repeated washes. Due to this quality they are considered safe even for infant clothing and clothing for chemically sensitive people.
Will my items fade, bleed or run?

We use professional quality Procion Fibre Reactive Dyes. We have a very strict washing out process that we follow which means by the time you receive your items, they are completely colourfast and should not bleed, run or fade.

In saying this, we recommend washing your tie dye garments with your mixed/coloured cycles.
How long will my order take?

When you place an order with us, our garments are already dyed and ready for shipping. Our processing time can take 1-3 business days. Once your order has been packed and lodged with Australia Post it is then out of our control. Generally it takes anywhere from 3-7 business days for standard delivery and 1-3 business days for express with Australia Post.

It really sucks when the hype is real and the item does not meet expectations. Trust us, we get it.

Can I order a custom piece?

At this stage we are not accepting custom orders, however we are always eager to hear any ideas or feedback you may have.

General Care Guidelines

  • Wash in Cold Water: Always wash your garments in cold water (preferably below 30°C) to protect the fibres and minimise shrinkage.
  • Use Mild Detergents: Opt for gentle, eco-friendly detergents to preserve the natural softness and durability of the fabric.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use bleach or other harsh chemicals as they can weaken the fibres and damage the garment's colour.
  • Air Dry: For best results, lay your garments flat to dry or hang them in the shade. This method reduces energy usage and prevents shrinkage.

Organic Cotton

  • Known for its softness and durability, organic cotton garments will retain their quality when cared for properly.
  • Cold water washing and air drying are ideal for maintaining its shape and longevity.
Shipping and delivery

We currently ship Australia wide only. We plan to extend shipping to overseas in the near future. 

If you are overseas and want to make a purchase now, please reach out via our contact form and we might be able to arrange getting shipping set up sooner to your Country. 

Our processing time is 1-3 business days. Tracking details will be emailed to you once your order has been fulfilled, so that you can trace and track delivery.

We send all our parcels via Australia Post. Standard regular postage generally takes 5-10 business days. Express post can take 1-3 business days. Once your order is with Australia Post, any delays that may occur are out of our control.
